they will just have a glimpse of original id and take the photocopy. Original id card is advised. If not available,even a photocopy attested by gazetted officer should do. Actually as per govt of india directives,except some circumstances, xerox attested by gazetted officer not below the rank of tahsildar holds same significance as original But then they may raise issues as no original id card,so wont be changed...so pls carry original id card if possible...
