And in the process, it meets its counter-part, 8 hours late running 12302 New Delhi (NDLS)- Howrah (HWH) RAJDHANI Express (via Gaya) headed by 30294 GZB WAP-7, which was doing somewhat more than 110 km/hr. The late running of the Down train was due to the fact that 20 coaches of a freight train derailed near Bhabua station on Grand Chord in between Mughal Sarai and Gaya, due to which all the trains were diverted via Main Line.
I, and my fellow railfans Vikramjeet Maitra, Anubhav Bhattacharjee and Rohit Basu were continuously checking SIMRAN (by SMS), and were poured with expectations when we saw that the Down train lost one more hour with unscheduled halts. But our hopes were virtually dashed when the announcement of a through train in the Up direction was done, and the Down train was still more than a couple of stations away. But amazingly, the Up trains lost a couple of minutes somewhere, and by the time it came and went, the Down signal went green, announcement of through train was announced (heard in the video as well), and we saw a headlight in the distance. And within a minutes, damn!! There it was.. After capturing, I kept on smiling in excitement, and Rohit Basu was shouting like a baby!! In fact, he went as far to comment that he is now ready to die, as his desire is fulfilled!!! Such was the impact of the crossing over fellow railfans like us.
