Southern Railway today conducted 130 Kmph High Speed trial between Chennai and Renigunta in both up and down lines with 24 coaches LHB rake with all classes mixed up hauled by WAP7 Locomotive. The speed trail was conducted with RDSO's Confirmatory Oscillograph Car Run (COCR). This test is happened as a part of sectional MPS increase for passenger trains in between Chennai and Mumbai via Renigunta.

During Covid SBC-MAS & MAS-CBE Shatabdi were not getting pax and got cancelled but this Tejas is a a runaway hit.
Kudos to sr as only zone in South India focus on 130 mps as scr have capabilities but focus shifted to freight I guess
Patronage is good but I was talking about the speed and travel time aspect.
I agree. Sectional speed increase as per IR vision they have MS-DG in plan but it may be the last post all diagonals upgrade.
SR was earlier doing some 130 MPS trials in MAS-JTJ section but it has gone to back burner.
