This doesn't work for TN vs MAS Raj. Even though TN is slower, the extra run time didn't matter as it is in the night.

With MAS Raj, passengers lose one full day and one half day in travel because of its timings, whereas with TN , passengers only lose one full day due to the 2-night, 1-day schedule.

even though Raj is considerably faster than TN, even the premium passengers prefer TN because of the better timings.

It should be noted that the present day Raj's schedule is actually TN's original schedule ( slightly faster ). TN's schedule was changed as passengers preferred a slower, 2 night schedule over a faster schedule that wasted a second day for them.
