Hirakud extension to SVDK would actually be advantageous for VSKP, along with rerouting through Rayagada, Sambalpur and Titlagarh. But if it happens then the coastal reqion would loose their only connectivity to NCT.
Hirakud extension till SVDK will be perfect because
it will useful for remote areas of Odisha, M.P, Chhattisgarh etc.
Also nowadays railway is extending trains or cancelling which takes long duration of journey with more halts from Big Station.
But diverting Hirakud via Rayagada, Sambalpur and Titlagarh.
