BangaloreMail^~ 26814 blog postsWith the new TT, Mail special is performing even better than earlier TT. Consistently arriving at around 4 AM with an average of being 20 mins early. The best performance so far is by Mail that departed on 30th Dec from SBC. Started 8 mins late from SBC and arrived MAS at 3:56 AM itself early by 24 mins. SBC-MAS covered in flat 5hrs 8 mins!!

Even if kk gets 7 hour late, it will arrive at 8pm then also mail can depart at 23.50

Ok. But what happens if it's late by more than 9hrs which did happen many times in the past ? So in that case it will still get rescheduled with suggested 23.50 slot as well.
The incoming rake of KK has to undergo primary maintenance before departing as mail. In the best possible case, if the coaching depot handles the rake with maximum priority, that would still require KK to arrive by 6PM to ensure an on-time departure for mail.
A spare rake is pretty much the only thing that can reliably ensure an on-time departure for mail.

They wont change the timings and there is no need also. It is most preferred and convenient for office goers and people who regularly commute due to its early arrival only. Moreover ,if postponed it would clash with other trains. And already Kaveri departs from SBC at 23:50.
It is not advisable to run the rake as Mail without PM after KK's arrival at SBC. Just by delaying the departure, the problem wont be solved. Only spare rake would be the solution.
