I want to travel from Chennai to Calicut. I have a CC ticket from Chennai to Coimbatore. I will be travelling in unreserved coach from Coimbatore to calicut. Since I don't have time to buy tickets and change trains, is it possible to buy my unreserved tickets for Coimbatore to Calicut in Chennai itself? (Rs. 27)
Or is it a wise idea to get Chennai - Calicut unreserved tickets from Chennai? (Rs. 132)

For journey for over 200 kms, one can purchase tickets 3 days in advance..
I have observed in some stations they will issue tickets for travel between any stations, but in some counters the ticket issuer may deny .
