from 1'oclock to 7.35pm this train stands idle at mayiladuthurai.if SR operate this train from mayiladuthurai-karaikkal then it will be good to the new line people and it will be another passenger train in mayiladuthurai-tiruvarur section

this was stated by some unknown railway person to me but i am not sure this is 100% reason.
wat he said could be the fact Bhookmari Ji, there are so many salt farms to make salt in this area and this stretch passes right through it and is a little elevated and in a step curve too..In that portion there are Speed restriction boards of 10kmph and 20kmph after a while..train never exceeds 20 for the first 7kms..when the track enters the plains again, it speeds up a little...

No the point i was making is that, it would still be dangerous to run trains.
yes. so only very high speed restriction as compare to a ghat section
