It's almost common for new stations/platforms in Konkan Railway. Platform surfacing works may be done later if needed. Done for full length if Major station or done only in front of Station Building if small crossing station.

By the way, The soil here is of Hard rock type & well compacted & may become slushy during rains only if dug.
