You can go through chennai local service. In adjacent of Chennai Central Station (Use of Pedestrian Flyover Towards Right Side Of MAS Exit) you can find chennai park (MPK) station and there you find local train goes towards tambaram alight you at chennai egmore (Next Stop) @ 10/-.
