He is not to be benefited by this option. Since he has booked two tickets separately one for 6passengers and other for 1. All the six passengers are allotted same coach.
but why railway can not provide tghe facility to chhose the birth? what will be the consequences?
Yess absolutely, like we book Movie Tickets. If we don't like the seats we getting, we simply move to the other show.
Will be a big task for IRCTC to reserve certain seats for other quotas but yes it is possible and will be very convenient.

The work will be a bit time consuming by taking in account the seat layout of all coaches and may not be effective for tatkal..!!
