There is a demand for new railway station at Srikakulam town. Srikakulam is the only district headquarters in the state that is yet to have a railway station. For decades, the people here depend on the Srikakulam Road railway station in Amadalavalasa, which is 15 kms away from the town. It is often difficult for people from the town to travel all the way to Amadalavalasa to catch a train mainly at night times. There are no transport available between 10 pm to 6 am, even there are no proper lodge facilities in Amdalavalasa.The new railway station is important for residents at the district headquarters, and considering it can plays a crucial role in the development of tourism and industries. There are 25 acres of land in SKLM town near NH 16 highway so it is possible. After Scor formation this may be constructed. These are proposals which kept from past...
