Used to be Mathura Jn with 7 routes.
Now Mathura, Bathinda and Rewari are tied for the biggest junctions with 6 routes each.

Don't know about that.
Earlier, the Mathura-Alwar line used to run parallel to the Mathura-Delhi till Bhuteswar. The line used to bifurcate at MTJ itself, and no interchange was possible between the Alwar line and the Delhi line after Bhuteswar. So, effectively, even though the two lines separated at Bhuteswar, the junction point for them was at Mathura, making it a 7-way junction.

the tripling of the MTJ-Palway section, this arrangement has been changed, and now trains can switch from the Delhi route to the Alwar route after Bhuteswar, effectively making Bhuteswar the junction point for those two lines. So, now MTJ is only a 6-way junction.

Even though alwar line bifurcates at bhuteshear but where the control room for that line is present? Because applying this same theory in past many stations have been designated junctions or non junctions
