Power packed 2nd and 3rd line from the 2nd platform. It's quite a usual scene here, specially at night. I have been noticing since my childhood days that this station and section get quite busy after dusk and so all the lines between 1st and 2nd platform. All sorts of locos can be spotted on 2nd and 3rd line from 2nd platform at night. More than 1 hr late running daily passenger train standing on platform No 2.

Great visited this station long ago and got down at midnight .I was going to NTPC plant .

Most of the railway stations are like this in south Sonebhadra where the road and the platforms are at different heights. I had earlier posted pics of a very small station, yet an important junction, Karaila Road Jn which is unapproachable by any motorable road. There also railway tracks can be found well below the station Master's cabin level.
I booked a waiting ticket which got confirmed, but still unable to book retiring room for prayagraj.
