Its good but comparing with USA, USA dont need electrified route at all. So thats y its not doing. we need electrified route so we are doing it ..
Maintaining a non electrified route is very much cheap as compared to electrified route.
And USA has 0.77% of rail road share in passenger transportation.

So, here no of trains are very high as compared to other countries and thus in India, maintaining anon electrified and electrified track is approx similar.
So electrification has good outcomes where trains are in large no but is a bag concept for countries where no of trains are less. (USA uses its 80-90% route for freight traffic- 30% share of total cargo movement)
