Ola/Uber services have become horrible in Mangalore post COVID-19. Drivers often ask for twice the amount displayed on the app and/or cancel the rides. So not recommended. Try the prepaid autos or city buses if you don't have heavy luggage.

Retiring rooms are not functioning now due to pandemic. Also, there is weekend and night curfew due to the onset of third wave. Popular beaches have been cordoned off till September third week due to rough seas. Mangalore is safe in general but the same issues that plague other cities are present...
