Yes can't be avoided you just can't ignore VSKP without a proper alternative... though few trains like HWH Duronto bypass it .
Easily be avoided if ecor had made alternate stn on par of hyd,sc,lpi,kcg type
Road and local city bus connectivity also imp.
Passengers will adopt in 2-3 years and will move on

However bulb line is possible for Marripalem.
Old line is their which goes behind Airport till Sheela Nagar.
Final call is for Navy to take.
Nor Marripalem terminal will end like Visakhapatnam station which will not make difference for Passengers.

Marripalem terminal will be future terminal for new introductions from VsKp some trains terminating at Vskp will be shifted. Vskp will serve the present trains with LR . I don't think bulb is poosuble in Marripalem too as it has to cut through all the cargo lunes in the yard. The circumference travel with low MPS will not see much cut in travel time or the time 10 mins saved for LR will be lost in circumference travel.
First of all it is a mistake to bypass the Howrah-Chennai mainline away from VSKP. Now the IR is struggling to construct bulb line.
