what is the nearest rail head to nainital? suppose one wants to return after durga puja, what are the chances to get a confirmed berth for 22nd of october from nainital to howrah in class 3a/2a?

thanks to rlf, tejas and hussain sir. acha now for the next part, suppose some one is bent upon getting a confirmed berth and doesnt like taking a risk with rac, so what station should he try that would be nearest to nainital that can offer him a confirm berth?

See BG,if you have to travel from Nainital to HWH ,never ever go for bagh express.It will take a lot of time.Bareilly is 3-4 hrs from nainital and from bareilly you can get many trains for HWH which they can cover in 23 hrs approx.while bagh express will cost you nothing less than 38 hrs and 45 mins for Kathgodam to hwh
Kathgodam and Lalkuan are nearest railhead.
I would suggest u to go Bareilly which is 140 km(3-4 hr journey) from nainital bus and private taxi are easily avbl and Bareilly is well connected to HWH by rail.
