Rebuilt from a standard WDM2 in the mid-2000s by the Diesel Component Works, Patiala (now DLMW) KJM's WDM3A #18824R runs into Ashokapuram with 56210, the 12:30 from Mysore Jn to Chamarajanagar.
To our surprise this retuned from CMNR with 56213, the 15:00 'Fast Passenger' to Tirupati Main. The apparent rake share involving train 16204 from Tirupati to Chennai too.

was a most excellent machine and we had a sublime journey back to Bangalore. Being safely ensconced in our first class (non-AC) compartment helped a great deal. I don't know how we managed to keep the compo free (the coach was fully reserved from Mysore), as the train was heaving beyond belief, with people spilling out of the doors, but we did! One of those journeys to forever remember.
