It was their style of stenciling locos. Even WAP-5s were stencilled as P-5, WAP-4s as P-4, and WAP-1s as P-1. The pattern differentiated GZB locos from other sheds.
However, GZB was not the first shed to do that. Earlier, GMO shed had stencilled its WAG-9H #31086 named Dr. Silver as G-9 in a similar style.
Not only on the sides but also on the face of the loco.
