Amidst the platform clutter a freshly repainted WDM3D backs down onto train #16339, the 12:05 Mumbai CST - Nagercoil Jn "Express" at its home station of Erode. A mere 29 hours into its 1874 km journey.
The train reversed here, 11223 replacing sister 11186 which had worked all the way from Mumbai. I was a little annoyed; only arriving from Trichy half an hour earlier on the same loco. Quite possibly not the booked loco link!.
