Eastern Railways has suddenly converted all MEMU, Conventional passengers (starting with 0xxxx number) re-introduced from 1st November into 'Express fare train' with minimum fare Rs.30 instead of previous Rs.10 ... huge protest is developing against the move.

••It is further decided that All MEMU trains will have ORDINARY FARE (minimum fare Rs.10) & All Conventional rake Passengers will have MAIL/EXPRESS FARE (minimum fare Rs.30) over Howrah division
••All Passenger/MEMU trains originating/terminating at Sealdah division will have ORDINARY FARE (minimum fare Rs.10)
