If one has to travel to Nashik from valsad, around 730 pm, will there be buses at that time or cars to rent?

Travel to LTT or Dadar and take an express to valsad From Bandra check the schedules in western railway connecting train to morning inter city express from Nasik.
GSRTC/MSRTC has good frequency but MSRTVC employees are on strike so you will have to depend only on GSRTC.
Same search in reverse direction you have intercity to Nasik in afternoon/evening from Mumbai Region.
