The Frontier Mail passes over the Darra viaduct circa 1930 en route to the North West Frontier destination of Peshawar, till which the train ran then. The engine in charge is a XC class 4-6-2, one of the largest engines in use at that time. The XCs were built by the Vulcan Foundry in 1928-29

रेलवे में रहे वरिष्ठ बाबू रामस्वरूप सिंह ने बताया कि तब इस ट्रेन में पेशावर से चमन के अंगूर आते थे, जो कोटा में कभी-कभी ही देखने को मिलते थे। यह अंगूर इतने रसीले और मीठे होते थे कि दिख जाएं तो लोग मांगने में भी संकोच नहीं करते थे।
