NER has sent a proposal to Railway Board for dropping construction of Mau-Ghazipur section from Mau-Ghazipur-Tarighat New BG line Project vide their letter No. W/CON Dated: 27.08.2020. CAO/Con/NER has mentioned that Mau-Ghazipur New Line would neither benefit public nor Railway from any aspect. Also it will take a very long time as it is at initial stage of land acquisition only, involving huge cost to Railways. FC vide D.O. letter No. 2015-B-235 dated 19.06.2020 has also suggested closure of uneconomical lines vide V(C) as the Rate of Return is -4.58% for this project. Further course of action would be taken after decision of Railway Board.
