211xx series locos aren't original WAG 5 locomotives. Earlier, these locomotives were WAM 4B units & later re-classified as WAG 5B class. Later many sheds like Itarsi, BSL further re-classified them as WAG 5A & sheds like Vishakapatnam (WAT) retained them as WAG 5B till the very end.

Unfortunately, not a single locomotive of this series is operational as of today.

On a different note, rail enthusiasts often addressed Itarsi WAM 4s & WAG 5s as smiling locomotives based on how Itarsi inscribed the shed name on either face of these workhorses.
