Dear Rail fanners, I have a query. I have a confirmed ticket in mfp ltt pawan express in 3A on 22nd Sep from MFp to Nk for my wife and my father. My father is a senior citizen so he has discounted ticket. Now there is some changes in my plan and I want to travel on my father's confirmed ticket. My father will not be travelling. I am not able to get confirm ticket.
I want to know how that ticket can be transfered on my name. I know that the ticket can be transfered in blood relation but I have a doubt as my father ticket is a discounted ticket. Kindly give me detailed process how to get the ticket...

i am sorry to say but this seems highly unlikely to be transferred. we have had experiences in our blog forum. the reluctance to transfer tickets is highly marked. wish you all the best.
If first does not happen allotting the berth to you on board can't be guaranteed since RAC & W/L in line will be preferred for allotting...
if it does not work at reservation office, try meeting the commercial manager at station

Clerk may show u some way which v dnt knw.
Otherwise buy SF ticket n go wid TTE.
Remind one thing u have 1 confirmed ticket. So TTE nt force u to leave train..he may took some money.

Not possible. If passenger fails to turn up the berth is vacant and TTE has to allot next eligible RAC/WL passenger.
However chances are good at this level in 3A but CNF berths are available in 2A:
