Here is my Experience at Yeshvanthpura Parcel Office while sending TVS SCOOTY to my mother...
My conversation with clerk went in Kannada, I'm trying to put up in English what he said...
Day 1 :
Me : Reached YPR parcel Office by 2pm which was Thursday and asked to book Scooty to Raipur by Friday Departure Wainganga Sf.
Booking...
more... Clerk : Today No train, Come Friday.
Me : If luggage is more, You may not load Scooty on same day, So I brought today to be 1st in Queue..
Booking Clerk : No, I'm here Don't worry...
Some Agents started explaining me about procedures...
Day 2 Friday : By 4.30Pm reached Parcel Office, That day clerk was different
Me : Have to book Scooty to Raipur by Wainganga Sf.
Clerk : Should bring 1 day prior, I can't assure that Scooty will be loaded tonite itself...
Me : Yesterday Clerk said to come today.
Clerk : I can't help.
Agents Were not there , Was trying to connect them as witness ...
Returned Home...
Day3, 4 were saturday and Sunday
Day 5
Monday
Me reached parcel office by 4pm, 4-5 bikes were getting packed to board Ksk towards Pune on tuesday. I was 6th in Queue...
In the yard there is a small stall who packs Bike and other stuffs for Parcel. He chargers around 350 per Bike.
Firstly He asked me to which train(Hindi), Said Wainganga and Explained past 3 days experience(In Kannada).
He explained How clerks behaves with Public for Extra Money and said On friday itself your Scooty would have booked if you would have paid 50 more to him...
By 7.15 packing was done and offered 350 as he took same amount from others. But He offered me a discount of 150Rs for Kannada speaking and assured that Booking will be done in 10-15 mins(Parcel office works from 8Am to 8Pm). RPF gave clearance after confirming 0% pertrol(He just tried to Start the vehicle).
Real Terror started to me infront of Clerk :
7.40pm Agents were busy with their stuff to book, I gave the slip which it should be filled with Vehicle details.
Clerk : To is going to Receive?
Me : Father
Clerk : RC Book Xeror ?
Me : Yes
Clerk : Name in RC book is not your's,So you can't send as per IR Rules.
Me : Packing done, and time is 7.45, Now U are Xplaining me the rule, You would have done that to me in Earlier visit rite, This is how you play.....
Clerk : Taught, Its understood...
Me : No were the rule which you said is mentioned.
Clerk : Showed me some Bike which was tried to send across after lifting from places, For this reason we won't allow....
Me : What should I do Now, I can't take Scooty back to home...
Clerk : Take a letter from your Mother about sending Scooty to Raipur, Which is more that sufficient.
Me : They are at Raipur, Which I can't collect Now...
Clerk : You write a letter considering your self as your mother, Put Initials of your mother at the End.
Me : Did the same considering I'm not the thief. In another 1 mins Booking was done and Next Battle with Hamali's started...
Hamali : English/Hindi/Tamil/Telugu...
Me : Kannada.
Hamali : ASked about train and fixed Hamali charges by considering Kannada speaking, His charges are like For Hindi : Around 300-350, Tamil/Telugu/Kannada : 200-250 which is negotiable.... Negotiated to 175. Mean while He asked me about, How much value did you declared for Scooty.
Me : 10,000
Hamali : Would have declared 5000 as Vehicle is 6yrs Old.... Railway charges would have been near 600 for that...
Me : I can't do any thing Now, Even If I declare, Will your rates comes down ?
Hamali : HE HE HE, Illa Sir ....
Me : Tomorrow, Should Load, Will come to station to Check,
Hamali : No need Sir, 100% Load Madthini....
