Not dependable AT ALL!!
Few days back it was overtook by 14205 FD DLI Exp before GZB. That implies a minimum of 2 hrs delay flat!

One I travelled by 04029/MLDT - NDLS summer special (sharing time slot of NFK 14003 express)
I was great... Departed 6 hours late from JMP about 8:30 in the night!! had a great run inroute with WDM 3D TKD shed...
And reached NDLS only 1 hour 30 mins late!!
AC coaches were super clean, but SL was dirty!!

I agree with you... But once i had a very good experience while traveling in Special. It was Pune Gorakpur special. It started 30 min late from Pune but Reached Jabalpur Banged on time.. even though it gave passing to all possible trains.. :)
what can be said now.. Some special i feel gkp-anvt spl has 2 hrs 15 min from mb to anvt.. Whereas even shatabdi takes 2 hrs 40 mins.. I dont know how they plan..
भाई साहब जो स्पेशल ट्रेन नयी दिल्ली से कानपूर मार्ग पे चलती है उनका ये ही आलम है हमेशा से.
ये बस बेतरतीब तरीके से प्लान कर देते है असलियत में ये स्पेशल ट्रेन्स बहुत समय लेती हैं
