Why will anyone take this train when by road you can do the Pune - Nasik stretch in 5 hours.

There are people who love travelling by train even if it takes more time than bus. Train gives comfort, that's an experience in itself. Travelling (and sleeping) in over night train has a different fan base.
Also some SS prefer train to bus because there is less jerks.
