Availability for Chennai to Nagore Karaikal Exp is nearly 170. But the same train shows Waiting list from Chennai to Chidambaram as 41 and from Chidambaram to Nagore as 40. Is it a good idea to split the reservation to Chennai to Chidambaram and Chidambaram to Chennai, as changing berths while on train can be an option. Will my tickets get to at least RAC

One: You'll have to pay more.
Two: Even if it has a larger waitlist it has a larger quota point-to-point too.
So if your W/L-170 etc is outta say 500 seats, the intermediate W/L 41 can be out of say 50 (fictional data) making it even more difficult to confirm.
