Looks like Tambaram is slowly getting importance. Trains to other states from here will be a boon to people who work in areas between Tambaram and Chengalpattu. Tambaram is also entry point to MAS from south. There is a talk of shifting central bus terminus to Kilambakkam, which if happens will boost Tambaram's importance. Tambaram Kilambakkam is approximately 10 km by GST road. As I told before Tambaram can be developed as dedicated terminus for trains to Bihar, UP, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, west bengal, orissa and Northeast. Also the metro rail is keen on connecting Kilambakkam with airport, so people traveling to Tambaram will not face any hassle.
