Oh .. I don't know that trains from SC will run empty beyond NDLS sections .... thank you for the info ..
Beach should be developed as terminal once again as it would prove better than tambaram in terns of location as TMB is in outskirts
City is being extended towards south in East coast road, Old Mahabalipuram Road, Tamabaram towards Chengalpattu and Sriperumbudur towards vellore Highway and all these are 25km away from central or beach.

Earlier Navjeevan and Ganga Kaveri were terminated at Madras beach. They were acting as the connecting trains to Meter gauge trains for the benefit of pilgrims bound to Rameshwaram from North. Even the Meter Gauge express was named as Ganga Kaveri Express and departed from MSB matching with the days of operation on which BSB MAS Ganga Kaveri arrives and departs.
So initially bpl had a daily cg to bsp. Then when it lost this to delhi, it got daily mahanadi/ amarkantak pair, and finally with the cancellation of mahanadi amarkantak as the solo daily.
