5/6 is Punjab Mail
57/58 is Mumbai Amritsar Express (Terminal was Dadar then)
79/80 is Taj (Used to run till Agra Cantt)
149/150 is Mahakoushal (Its name was Kutub back then)
177/178 is Jhelum

Synopsis:

Taj Express today also takes the same amount of time between NDLS and AGC as it used to take back then. Timings were more convenient at that time from NDLS to AGC.

Mahakoushal is slowed down in NZM VGLB Section and even timings were better then.

Rest all the trains are speeded up.

143/144 is Kalinga Express
Both were merged together to form Kalinga Utkal Express.

Synopsis
This Kalinga Express isĀ  faster than today's Kalinga Utkal. Plus needless to mention the huge no. of halts added.

1969 Timetable of Howrah Delhi Line
All strains were faster. Very much faster Janta used to take 34 hrs 15 mins, Lal Quila used to take 30 hrs 30 mins & Upper India used to take 34 hrs 30 mins time. Toofan used to take 29 hrs 15 mins time. Later all these trains were slowed
