How to do break journey to reach Shimla from Chennai via New Delhi(staying two days either onward or return). Please suggest some ideas. Thanks in Advance.
Have a ticket from Chennai to Kalka and make two reservations in single PNR forum one from Chennai to New Delhi and second from New Delhi to Kalka.
take 12621 and 1261 upto delhi and onward journey by 12311 upto Kalka but the ticket should be open from MAS-KLK-Shimla, ty this way if you get it, have break journey at delhi exuding arrival/dep for 2 days
If it is SL class ticket and the tains to Shimla are mainly 2S, will it not be possible to get open ticket upto Shimla as KLK-Shimla will be lower rate?
no sir. simla kalka trains as far as i know have separate fare scheme and will not enjoy the privilege of telescopic rates. you can get telescopic upto kalka i.e. from mas to ndls to klk but for klk to sml you have to book separately for any class 2s/fc/cc.
