राज्याला जोडणारी महत्वपूर्ण रेल्वेगाडी आहे. पश्चिम मध्य रेल्वेच्या पाच व दक्षिण-पूर्व मध्य रेल्वेच्या चार स्थानकात थांबणाऱ्या या गाडीला तुमसर रोड रेल्वे स्थानकात थांबा देण्याची मागणी परिसरातील नागरिक करत आहेत.

महाराष्ट्र व मध्यप्रदेश राज्याला रेल्वेच्या माध्यमातून जोडण्यासाठी बांधण्यात आलेला बहुप्रतीक्षित गोंदिया - बालाघाट - नैनपूर - जबलपूर ब्रॉडगेज रेल्वे प्रकल्प नागपूरच्या किंबहुना विदर्भातील प्रवाशांसाठी जबलपूर पर्यंत स्वस्त दरात व सुरक्षित पोहचण्यासाठी महत्वाचा ठरत आहे. या मार्गामुळे उत्तर भारताचे अंतर सुमारे १५० किमीने कमी झाले. इतवारी ते रीवा मार्गे गोंदिया-बालाघाट जबलपूर अशी इंटरसिटी एक्सप्रेस सध्या सप्ताहातील तीन दिवस म्हणजेच रविवार, मंगळवार व गुरुवारी धावते. इतवारी-रीवा इंटरसिटी सप्ताहातील तीन दिवस संध्याकाळी ६:३० वाजता इतवारीहून सुटते आणि दुसऱ्या दिवशी सकाळी ८:२० ला रीवा येथे पोहोचते. गाडी क्रमांक ११७५४ रीवा ते इतवारी ही गाडी सोमवार, बुधवार व शनिवार असे तीन दिवस धावते. रीवा येथून सायंकाळी ५:२० ला सुटून परतीच्या प्रवासात इतवारीला दुसऱ्या दिवशी सकाळी ७:२५ ला पोहोचते. सातपुडा नावाने प्रसिद्ध असलेल्या जबलपूर मार्गिकेवर नॅरोगेजचे ब्रॉडगेजमध्ये रूपांतर झाल्यानंतर, या मार्गावरील बहुप्रतिक्षित ही ट्रेन धावत आहे. या रेल्वेला तुमसर रोड रेल्वे स्थानकात थांबा द्यावा, अशी मागणी प्रवासी करत आहेत.

महाराष्ट्रातील फक्त दोनच स्थानकात थांबा

सप्ताहातील तीन दिवस धावणारी रीवा-इतवारी ही एक्सप्रेस गाडी रविवार, मंगळवार व गुरुवारी इतवारी स्थानकातून सायंकाळी साडेसहा (६:३०) वाजता सुटून नंतर थेट गोंदिया जंक्शन रेल्वे स्थानकात रात्री ९:०५ ला जाऊन पोहचते. म्हणजेच ही गाडी महाराष्ट्रातील फक्त दोनच स्थानकात थांबते. यामुळे प्रवाशांमध्ये नाराजीचे सूर आहेत. एक्सप्रेस प्रकारची ही गाडी १४ तास ५ मिनिटांच्या कालावधीत इतवारी व रीवा यांच्यासमवेत अन्य ७ रेल्वे स्थानकावर थांबत ४२ किलोमीटर प्रति तासाच्या सरासरी वेगाने ६०१ किलोमीटर अंतर पार करते. या गाडीच्या मार्गात दक्षिण पूर्व मध्य रेल्वे अंतर्गत येणारे इतवारी, गोंदिया जंक्शन, नैनपुर, पश्चिम मध्य रेल्वेअंतर्गत येणाऱ्या जबलपूर, कटणी, मैहर, सतना व रीवा या स्थानकांचा समावेश आहे. ही गाडी २ प्रथम श्रेणी वातानुकूलित (एसी), ४ तीन स्तरीय वातानुकूलित (थ्री टियर एसी) डब्बे, १३ स्लिपर, ३ पूर्ण व २ अर्धे जनरल अशा डब्यांच्या रचनेसह (कोच कंपोसिशन) धावते. या गाडीत पँट्री कार किंवा ऑन-बोर्ड केटरिंग सारख्या सुविधा उपलब्ध नाहीत; परंतु निवडक रेल्वे स्थानकांवर ई-खानपान (ई- कॅटरिंग) सुविधा उपलब्ध आहे. यामध्ये रेल्वे प्रवासी आभासी पद्धतीने जेवण मागवू शकतात. प्रवाशांना आपल्या आसनावर ठराविक रेल्वे स्थानकात गाडी उभी असताना हे खाद्यपदार्थ पोहचवले जाते.

तुमसर - मोहाडी तालुक्यातील नागरिकांना होणार फायदा

इतवारी-रीवा या गाडीला तुमसर रोड रेल्वे स्थानकात थांबा दिल्यास परिसरातील मध्य भारतात जाणाऱ्या अनेक व्यापाऱ्यांना फायदा होईल. तुमसर शहरातून व परिसरातील अनेक नागरिक कामानिमित्त मध्यप्रदेशातील बालाघाट, जबलपूर, सतना येथे जात असतात. त्यासोबत या रेल्वे थांबल्यामुळे उत्तर भारतातील प्रयगराज, झाशी, पटना, लखनऊ या मार्गावरील गाड्या पकडण्यासाठी अनेक प्रवाशांना मदत होऊ शकते. रेल्वेप्रवासाच्या फायद्यांचा विचार केला असता सर्वांत स्वस्त असा प्रवासाचा मार्ग म्हणून हा ओळखला जातो. प्रवासाच्या दृष्टीने अतिशय वेगवान असा हा वाहतुकीचा मार्ग आहे. रेल्वेच्या माध्यमातून केवळ प्रवाशांचीच नव्हे, तर उद्योगधंद्यातील मालाची वाहतूक करणेही सोपे होते. या सर्व बाबींचा विचार करून इतवारी-रीवा एक्सप्रेस गाडीला तुमसर रोड स्थानकात थांबा मिळावा यासाठी स्थानीक खासदार सुनील मेंढे यांनी त्यांच्याच पक्षाचे वर्तनाम रेल्वे मंत्री अश्विनी वैष्णव यांच्याकडे साकडे घालण्याची आवश्यकता आहे.

Rewa-Itwari Express demand halt at Tumsar Road station

11753/11754 Rewa-Itwari Express operated by Jabalpur Division of West Central Railway is an important train connecting Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh state. Residents of the area are demanding that this train, which stops at five stations of West Central Railway and four stations of South-East Central Railway, should stop at Tumsar Road railway station.

The much awaited Gondia - Balaghat - Nainpur - Jabalpur Broad Gauge Railway Project, built to connect the states of Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh through railways, is becoming important for the passengers of Nagpur and indeed Vidarbha to reach Jabalpur at cheap rates and safely. This route reduced the distance to North India by about 150 km. Intercity Express Gondia-Balaghat Jabalpur via Itwari to Rewa currently runs three days a week i.e. Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday. Itwari-Rewa Intercity leaves Itwari at 6:30 PM three days a week and reaches Rewa at 8:20 AM the next day. Train No. 11754 runs from Rewa to Itwari on three days on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Departs Rewa at 5:20 PM and returns to Itwari at 7:25 AM next day. After conversion of narrow gauge to broad gauge on Jabalpur route popularly known as Satpuda, the much awaited train on this route is running. Passengers are demanding that this train should stop at Tumsar Road railway station.

Stop at only two stations in Maharashtra

The Rewa-Itwari Express, which runs three days a week, leaves Itwari station at 6:30 PM (6:30 PM) on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays and reaches Gondia Junction Railway Station directly at 9:05 PM. That means this train stops at only two stations in Maharashtra. Due to this, there are voices of displeasure among the passengers. This express train covers a distance of 601 km at an average speed of 42 km per hour stopping at 7 other railway stations along with Itwari and Rewa in 14 hours and 5 minutes. The route of this train includes Itwari, Gondia Junction, Nainpur under South East Central Railway, Jabalpur, Katni, Maihar, Satna and Rewa under West Central Railway. This train runs with a coach composition of 2 First Class AC, 4 Three Tier AC coaches, 13 Sleeper, 3 Full and 2 Half General coaches. This train does not have facilities like pantry car or on-board catering; But e-catering facility is available at selected railway stations. In this, railway passengers can order food in virtual mode. These food items are delivered to the passengers at their seats while the train is parked at a certain railway station.

Citizens of Tumsar - Mohadi taluka will benefit

Stopping the Itwari-Rewa train at Tumsar Road railway station will benefit many traders in the area going to Central India. Many citizens from Tumsar city and surrounding areas go to Balaghat, Jabalpur, Satna in Madhya Pradesh for work. Along with this, the stoppage of these trains can help many passengers to catch trains on the route of Prayagraj, Jhansi, Patna, Lucknow in North India. Considering the benefits of rail travel, it is known as the cheapest mode of travel. This mode of transport is very fast in terms of travel. Transport of not only passengers but also industrial goods is easy through railways. Considering all these factors, local MP Sunil Mendhe needs to submit his party's name to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav to get the Itwari-Rewa Express train halted at Tumsar Road station.
