the load of freight traffic is true...it is also a very small station....hence stoppage can be provided only for EMU, MEMU and hopefully some passenger train in future

I just cant digest the fact when there is time slot available for trains to passby, there is no 2 minutes available to halt that train in there.... I wonder how CR is planning to run EMU services btwn Virar & Panvel...

the station is built on an elevated location iand is above approx 20-25 mts above the ground surface, so there will be problems in developing the station. however halts can be made for passenger trains if they start some trains like Surat pune passenger, karjat/kasara- Dahanu EMU etc

konkan railway was a strategically designed project keeping in mind the need for future expansion as well as the difficult terrain. but this is a different scenario altogether. however it is very sure that a lot of revenue will be generated in this route as this will provide a vital connection. from areas like pune and other southern regions to Baroda and ADI......
if in future if a rajdhani is started.....say from PUNE, then this route will become very popular
