Gomti Nagar lies in the 'posh' area of Lucknow. Originally an halt station built over two decades ago, it's now a kinda terminal based station with few trains starting from here. It still isn't the easiest station to reach to[ no metro yet ] though the roads leading to it are good. Only few express trains like Lucknow-Barauni stop here except for those that originate from here.
That rail siding, you mean? That is just some empty rakes there. Either case, it's ironical that access to this station was much easier[rail wise] when it was a single platformed halt and this section was single line. The LJN-BBK EMUs used to cross at some intervals. I often used to take the evening MEMU bound for BBK from LJN back then.
Yes, which is attached with pf one. It was easier but EMUs were not reliable due to its punctuality. In station Layout, they marked these Pfs as 'Daak Platform' along with a parcel siding at ML end.
Yes, that was due to somewhat single line section in NER that caused EMU to take time. Still they got decent patronage b/w CNB-LJN sector before rummaging forward to BBK.
