This is very common and happens daily in Howrah to Chennai and Howrah-Bengaluru bound trains in Sleeper and GS coaches and sometimes even in 3VAC Coaches. Reduction in Sleeper and GS coaches in trains is causing this problem. This government is a coward doesn't have the guts to increase fare in Sleeper and GS coaches and retain same number of Sleeper coaches as was in ICF rake. Instead reducing Sleeper and GS coaches and increasing AC coaches forcing passengers to pay more by travelling in AC coaches by force after facing the same situation as you r facing today. After facing this situation next time i think you will also travel in AC coaches.
New trains r not given in Howrah-Chennai...

, Howrah-Bengaluru and Howrah-Mumbai route for many years now ...only 1 weekly train from Jasidih to Bengaluru is given via Dankuni but that train is mainly for Jasidih, asansol, dankuni pgr mainly and few from kharagpur, bhubaneswar, etc. But this is not sufficient. More new trains r needed from howrah to chennai, bengaluru and mumbai routes.
