I guess if Prayagraj thing doesn't work out, Rewa can be there in the picture but much more deserving alternatives like Mahoba/Khajuraho/Banda should be explored through this. Since timings and halts would be in favour to Unreserved Population, this route should have at least one dedicated train to Surat. Routing via Jabalpur won't matter as passengers in Unreserved Coaches will be HUGE, experienced it in DADN PRYJ Express Trip.
Rewa already has alternatives to Surat, let others have this one.
