Too early to come to conclusion should run for atleast year to see occupancy trends in different months then increase to 12 then 16. Shatabdi though run ing from 10yrs still runs with 8 coaches only and in April 1st have seen current avbl in weekdays while Madurai Tejas with 12 coaches has WL for 3 days.
I agree, best option would be to replace this train's rake with the Bilaspur one which is flop and hardly has 50% occupancy.
Makes sense, but I don't see how Nagpur-Bilaspur and Mumbai-Shirdi would be projected as needing 16 coaches all the time, and Chennai-Coimbatore would need only 8. I would have liked to see Chennai-Coimbatore and Chennai-Madurai both.
No one in this forum supported 16 coaches VB after observing the occupancy of Bilaspur Nagpur VB and when news came out in March that they are planning 8 coach every one thought it will be replaced by 8 coach rake. Regarding Mumbai Shirdi it is running full on weekends both sides with 16 coach and during weekdays it has a min occupancy of 600 seats both ways of 1000 seat capacity while VB with 8 coach will have only 480 seats in ACC. So it is a contender to be full VB rake.
No, I didn't mean this forum. I said I was surprised that IR themselves anticipated enough footfall on the Nagpur-Bilaspure route to warrant a 16 coach rake, but did not anticipate the same on the Coimbatore route :).
