Yes, as it has strong intermediate stations. 12020 depends on them as passengers from Ranchi prefer flight over the approx 7.5 hrs long tedious Shatabdi journey.
With the advent of VB, Railways must thoroughly examine the needs of Ranchi first, who can truly benefit from end to end travel. VB is already winning over flight between Chennai and Bengaluru. The same are very much possible between Kolkata - Ranchi and Kolkata - Bhubaneswar. Hope IR realise this simple fact over intermediate dependence. This can bring broad economic sustainability in the long run.
