Amravati wali divert nahi ho payegi kyuki Jabalpur Itarsi ke bich ke passengers aisa hone nahi denge. They call it ambulance express for a reason. Iss train ko passengers bhi ache khase mil jaate hai in stations se.

Yes both the routes despite being short takes much time than the existing Itarsi route. Via Gondia speed tab hi badh sakti hai jab doubling sanction ho iska abhi filhal single line mai to no chance ki this distance can be covered under 5 hours. Freight dominates this line and being under SECR people should have less expectations from this zone. They don't even spare their BSP-NGP to iska kya hi inlog dhyan rakhenge. Iss route ka mps bhi shayad 90 tak hai i have no idea if some know the mps of this route than please update on rail atlas.
