It's probably one of two: either track was damaged due to elements or sabotage or there was an error in signalling. We don't know if the 12841 hit the goods or it derailed which caused it to hit the goods on another track. Officials seem to indicate the latter which means clearly this is a track maintenance issue. Both trains were supposed to pass that area at MPS. Nothing wrong in that. Probably LP will be made scapegoat as he is dead already. Also the down train was express and not Duronto.
