Vande Bharath is the new flavour of the season and quite welcome at that. But in the proccess has IR neglected the SLEEPER CLASS so abjectly that it is now the NEW GENERATION UR with the 3AC taking the place of SL ?
Until say about 5 years ago, I was an inveterate traveller in the SL class, but after my pitiful experiences in 12863/64 HWH-YPR-HWH Express trains I was reluctantly compelled to shift gears to 3AC. Now with 3AC gradually going the way of SL, what with WL/UR pax occupying space between the doors and blocking access to the toilets, I have recently started patronising 2A. For how long, God alone knows.

Second even a person travelling in UR class has paid for the seat so railways should have ensured that these coaches never get crowded beyond the seating capacity but sadly be it with trains or buses unreserved class was and still is associated with overcrowded mess the root of the problem being our such huge population and I don't think of a possible solution incase of short distance unreserved passengers who travel to travel everyday for their bread and butter but atleast in long distance trains there is a solution as Mridul sir had pointed out converting GS coaches to 2S in long distance trains and secondly ensuring that unauthorised people are not allowed to enter in the trains...
