** Inspite of being a 130kmph route, avg speed of express trains on the route is just 50kmph (or even slower on many occassions) against the timetabled 55-65 kmph.

IR has to must consider for freight corridor. As power requirement is going up of our country so we need more coal for this. And running freight trains on existing tracks will make M/E & SF trains late forever. Freight corridor is the best option for this problem.
Immediate steps to solve the crisis now is construct bypass at Titlagarh & make trains of Jharsuguda-Bilaspur-Raipur line run via Sambalpur-Balangir-Kantabanji. New railway Line Parallel to Kolkata Mumbai Highway from Bargarh Rd. to Mahasamund must be made. Jharsuguda to Raipur via Sambalpur, Bargarh, Mahasamund by road is just 333 kms & takes 6 hrs
