A beautiful small station surrounded by trees & all you can hear in the afternoon is the chirping of birds with cool breeze. Not a single announcement or that, total quite. Even the counter has no person has there is just no train in the afternoon till night.
To go to Jog Falls, you can opt for buses outside the station or take an auto rickshaw for Rs 600 - 700 (return journey). They start from 900 - 1000, but bargaining takes you to this amount. Taxis available too. Spend an hour...

At the station there is only one stall which serves tea/coffee/packed eatables & pulao (Rs 35) in the evening for passengers of 16228 Mysuru Express. Mind it, stall remains closed from 2 PM to almost 6 PM.
Outside the station there is a market from where you can buy fruits or have some food at the eateries too.
Overall if you like quiet environment, you'll have no problem in spending 3-4 hrs in evening with cool breeze blowing over while waiting for your train after you return from your trip to majestic jog falls.

Steshan par sirf ek stall hai jahan chai/ coffee/ packed khane aur pulao (Rs 35) milta hai shaam ko 16228 Mysuru Express ke yatriyon ke liye. Yaad rakho, stall 2 PM se lagbhag 6 PM tak bandh rehta hai.
Steshan ke bahar ek market bhi hai jahan se fruits khareed sakte ho ya fir kuch khane ke liye eateries mein ja sakte ho.
Saaransh mein, agar tumhe shanti wala mahaul pasand hai, toh tumhe koi samasya nahi hogi shaam ko 3-4 ghante cool breeze ke saath bita ke apni yatra se lautne ke baad train ka intezaar karte hue.
