Departs from Platform# 2. Typical NR Premium Train Maintenance, Coaches are old look old but you won't be able to locate a flaw there. Many Coaches in between without "Kathgodam" Board 😂
Almost 20 Seats were Empty, Luckily the seat besides me was also empty so
enjoyed benefit of two Seats 🥳
Typical Hot Breakfast, nothing Special. As usual tried everything, Catering Guy was heavily greedy so didn't tip him at all.
Good Priority enroute, reached Moradabad Outer 37 minutes before time had a good 15 minute halt at Moradabad. Tried capturing Danapur Anand Vihar Terminal Jan Sadharan Express which was standing at Outer waiting for Ala Hazrat Express to clear Platform.
This train has a good 15 minute halt at Rudrapur City as well waiting for Uttaranchal Sampark Kranti to cross. Didn't click pictures of it's coaches as they were pathetic and smelled badly.

It's a pathetic train by priority and even that would've been acceptable had the maintainence not been even more pathetic especially considering it has an RSA with a dedicated connection of Pune for Gwalior.
It's meant to be a dedicated connection to Lucknow, Balrampur is simply for the fact that it gets connected to Lucknow. Like Jabalpur Express going to Amravati.
Sushasan gets heavy booking from Bareilly for Delhi and Agra, shows the need for Evening Shatabdi from Bareilly.
from there can curse Prayagraj Division all they want but it's quite established that Prayagraj Division maintains it's trains much better. Got to experience it first hand.

I'm talking about complimentary Water here.
You're getting mini bottles for Water or getting served water in Disposable Glasses on board.
Where are you purchasing Premium Water on board Flights ? Almost every other week I'm travelling, next week I'm going to Ranchi on Indigo , a week after to Bhubaneswar. last week I was in Bhopal, Mumbai a
week before it, and Raipur before Mumbai. Never saw that.
You're only getting 100 Rupees Water Bottle when you're purchasing same from Airports. And there are plenty of existing RO Water Options to not require purchasing Water Bottles.
I'm talking about giving complimentary 1Litre Bottles to Vande Bharat Passengers for a short journey and people ending up wasting same.

There do exist couple of ICEs from Balrampur to LKO. Sushasan, I always assumed, was for long distance. IIRC, didn't there exist a Shatabdi for an exceptionally short duration b/w Bareily and Delhi or was it scrapped before introduction? Either case, an Intercity might be better since it would serve more classes of people.

When a busy station wants to dump out train it's treated as an extended intercity mostly.
Balrampur on it's own doesn't have much demand for anywhere. This way atleast it gets a somewhat dedicated connection to Lucknow, Delhi and Agra. That train is majorly getting filled by Bareilly, Lucknow and Moradabad only.
Like Jabalpur Amravati Express between Nagpur and Amravati. Many extended trains from Bengaluru to Mysuru- there even certain Sleeper Coaches are marked as unreserved and 3A Coaches marked as AC Chair Car with Chair Car Fare for Bengaluru Mysuru Section. Kai

Yes, there was a Shatabdi back then which was i guess converted into Intercity because back then People didn't had enough money to spend on AC. Even Varanasi Shatabdi from Delhi would've failed back then had it been introduced. Nowadays situation is different. A Shatabdi is definitely needed here. A reverse Vande Bharat from Kathgodam via Bareilly for New Delhi could actually do wonders here. Normal Intercites would turn into Overnight Service thanks to "exceptional controlling" of NR Moradabad Division 😂. A Premium Service is required.

Same thing is happening in brahmaputra mail in spite of the train boarding from Delhi Junction railway station.
You may also experience bad smell in bedrolls and even in AC compartment as well, dirty toilet water was spread all over the toilet area.
While traveling in this train, I found this train struggling with its speed between Delhi to Deen Dayal Upadhyay section , even though it is capable of running at speed of 130 kilometers per hour in this section.
