Malda-Digha Exp gets poor patronage...either it will be permanently cancelled in comming years or will be routed via Howrah same as NJP-DGHA Paharia Exp to get patronage.

Paharia Express Has also less occupancy in between DGHA-HWH, almost berth in SL are empty, I travelled in this train in SL class on same route.
whats so important in Digha that they keep starting White Elephants there. First it was Duronto, then AC exp and now this. If its a place with seasonal traffic, then ER/SER should run specials in season when there is high footfall instead of running a regular train.
Nothing much is needed from Digha. Connections to Purulia/Asansol/NJP and obviously Kolkata region would be more than enough. Connecting all major parts of WB to Digha should be a bigger priority than running these white elephants. If this Malda Digha Exp is run from NJP and on an overnight slot, the train would have a very good patronage. Plus the unnecessary slack, it needs to be removed.
Both will get connected at MSAE once HBC 4th line work gets.

Diverting MLDT-DGHA Exp via HWH will increasse occupancy between MLDT to HWH there is huge demand. Also from MLDT to DGHA and HWH to DGHA will get passengers.
