After Utkrisht and Mahanama coach project, IR is bringing a new project (name not finalised yet) in which old ICF, CBC and Hybrid LHB type coaches will be modified and made fit for running at high speed and better comfort of passengers. RM will soon announce this project name and project will be launched.
All old coaches will be reused instead of throwing them away before their cordial life ends

Many ICF coaches are less than 10 year old.
They can surely be reused.
They can surely be reused.
But why to waste money on these coaches anymore simply reuse them for passenger trains and super slow M/E trains. There are many routes in IR not capable of speeds above 130 kph these can be reused there or a more productive use of these spare ICF coaches would be to run special trains.
Because of Vande Bharat, Vande Shadharan, Vande Metro, Vande AC Sleeper , Double Decker Cargo, Freight EMU version production increasing and will increase more in future, production of LHB coaches got reduced. To mitigate this, old ICF, CBC, Hybrid LHB coaches which have cordial life remaining, will be upgraded, modified for running at high speed and bettter comfort.
